Quick and Cute Hair Do-Dah's!

The other day at Walmart, I bought some Hairpins. These are different from bobby pins, which you have to use your teeth to open, no these are already open.

I just tied a ribbon at the end, and pulled it a bit to fray it. Then, I put in my ponytail for a hot day and used these around it, in the front.

Now, I'll tell ya, it's not so easy taking a picture of the top of my head!

My friend, Shell, over at Raspberry Rabbits sent me the most awesome thing the other day. I'd told her that Shannon was expecting a baby and she was so happy for her and for me being a new Grandma again :) she let me in on a secret. That she was designing something for all the new and expecting mommies out there! She was going to send me the pattern when it was done, so I could make one for Shannon. Look at this - is this cute or what?

It says, "Bun in the oven" and the poor little bunnies have swollen feet and tummies :)

Well, the next thing I know - she tells me, "I'm going to send you the bag, as a gift for Shannon!" OH.MY.GOSH!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to get to have a Shell original in my hands for a few days!!!

So, then I got this brilliant idea :) I've been making little things and buying a few things here and there, to send to Shannon - what better thing than to cram this full of pressies and send it off to Shannon as a little 'Baby Shower in the Mail'!!!

Which is exactly what I did!

The Colors of Beauty

Sometimes we don't notice the beauty that is right under our nose, or under our feet, if you're a 'trip-per' like I am. I was just looking around my sewing room, and suddenly noticing beautiful things that have been there all along -

My Clue 1 disaster

I had rip out most of what I'd done on Clue 1. sigh. I made a mistake somewhere down the line and didn't correct it right away. I kept thinking, "I can fudge through it and rework it and make it all right as I go along." HA! I fudged through about 7 repeats when I finally had to admit defeat and rip it all the way back to the 3rd repeat. sigh again. I made good time on it yesterday, but still have a few repeats to do before getting my new clue tomorrow.

When will I ever learn?

Clue #1 for Moonfleet

This is Clue 1 - I'm almost done with it, still have 2 repeats to do, then I bind off. This is called the border, and I think Clue 2 will be knit onto this piece, but I really have no idea. I love the way it looks and feels, and I love the beads - just gorgeous!!!!!

I received my yarn yesterday. Oh. My. Goodness!!!! it is GORGEOUS!

Pictures from the BBQ

We had a BBQ at our house last Sunday. Mike and Sam dreamed up a contest for the salespeople at the store, they split them into two teams, and the team who sold the most, won! Well, I think Mike and Sam were thinking along the lines of taking them to lunch - lol - but they wanted to come to our house to eat! Mike has developed quite a reputation for his cooking!!! So, we worked all week to present a lovely dinner and surroundings for the hard working salespeople. These are the pictures before everyone got there.
