I won some lace on Listia a few weeks ago. It was vintage lace, and had some rust spots on it, but, I wanted it anyway. It was too pretty, rust spots and all, to pass up.

So, my friend, and vintage quilt expert Karen Bush gave me some advice on how to get rid of the rust stains. She said it had worked for her in the past. I'm game!
Place slices of lemon on the stains and leave them alone for a day. Then, wash in a solution of water and hydrogen peroxide.
I placed my lemons -

And the next day, when I removed the Fighting Lemons -
| I must have purchased the weakest lemons in the store |
A wash in the water/hydrogen peroxide solution -
| Soaked it and swished it |
The end result?
| Wah-Wah.....same as before |
So, what's a girl to do with this luscious lace? Old School - tea dye it!
| Now, the dark spots are just 'tea'. | |

I think these pieces will look gorgeous on some kind of bohemian maxi-dress made from gauze and is all floaty and lovely.....
Oh what pretty lace. Looks like a collar and cuffs to me. Would love to see what you end up doing with it. Phyllis
