New Years Organizing Revolution!

Organizing Made Fun
I do love a challenge, and most often, I need a motivating factor to get me pushed in the right direction. In this case, the motivating factor was the possibility of PRIZES! So, I decided to clean up my desks. Which are in a perpetual state of disorganization and piles of paper. I tend to 'pile' things, I've learned over the years. But this time, I may have found a solution! Just so you get the full impact of my After pictures, I'll show you some Before pictures. (oh the humiliation!) (if you click on the pictures, they get MUCH bigger)

Horrible isn't it? Stacks of papers, odds and ends all over the place, It was awful trying to work here :(

The other side of my desk, the printer, my meds, yarn, glasses cleaner . . . etc.... yuk

Then there is the little table between the 2 desks. Full of knitting needles, crochet hooks and Tums apparently :/ and who knows what else.

The whole ugly view - oh, wait till you see my desk drawer!
Ack! What a mess! I challenge you to find anything in here.

OK, I'm too embarrassed to go any further, here are the AFTER pictures :)

I moved the printer to the little table. Much better.

I decided to 'pile' in an organized manner. I had a stand up divided file container. I laid it down so the openings were facing me and set my monitor on it. The monitor is now at the perfect height for me! In the top space of the file container, I put papers that need to be filed. There is only so much room there and soon I'll be forced to file papers! The second one has clean printer paper and my notebook goes in the bottom one. You can also see some notebooks standing to the side - my work organization binder, my password and sewing stats binder, a watercolor paper tablet and calculator! Neatly posed :)

Nice clean desk with the necessities - stapler, pencil sharpner, scotch tape and a glass of water!

And my crowning achievement - my drawer!

LOVE IT!

The other side :)

And all those crochet hooks and etc? Look at this! I love it. My inspiration was THIS and I love it! I did put the knitting needles away where they belong, but there is room for my crochet hooks, my jewelry pliers, my spools of silk thread, pens, and small wastebasket for threads. Who says organization can't be pretty?

  2. It's been kept this way for almost a week now, even as I work here and interact with each thing. Oh so much easier!!! And it is a great feeling :) Karen

  3. Nice Job! love the way you organized the drawers, so easy to see and grab what you need and so easy to see where to drop things as you put them away.
