Grow Your Blog!

Good Morning! Welcome to the Grow Your Blog party!  I'm Karen Gass and this is my blog. It's gone through a lot of topics, because I have a lot of interests. It started out as a needlework blog, when I got back into embroidery. Then (in no particular order) I went through a knitting phase, (I'm always in a sewing phase), I think there was
some crochet in there. Currently I'm in a polymer clay and jewelry making phase! And sometime in there, I got back to my embroidery, but... who can keep track? If you like to do lots of things like I do, you might like my blog.

So, a little about me, I'm 55 years old. I have 3 grown children and 14 grandchildren who are the light of my life. Last year my husband passed away from liver cancer, and my sister was kind enough to invite me to live with her. I'm a writer and beginning a freelance editing business pretty soon. (working on the website) I'm also attending college online at Southern New Hampshire University working towards my B.A. in Creative Writing with an emphasis on Fiction. I do keep busy!

And yes I'm giving away a prize! I know it will take a few days to get through all the blogs listed on Vicki's site, so if you'd like to be in the running to win copies of both my books, just leave a comment. Make sure you leave an email address and your name. Here is the Amazon link to both books, just so you can see if they are something you might enjoy. Drawing ends 2/14, and announcement made on 2/15.

Morningshine (Book 1) Kindle book http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CGBMTCS/

Morning Glory (Book 2) Kindle book http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HADMVMA/

I'll be giving away paperback copies (or a Kindle version if that's what you'd prefer)

And here are some pictures of my latest polymer clay creations - I'm on a barrette making kick right now and they are selling almost as fast as I can make them! Who knew barrettes were so trendy? Lol As soon as I get time these will be listed in my Etsy shop.

barrettes - I love how they turned out!

Some of these are sold (YAY) :)

Blue agate necklace - silver wire, Swarovski crystals, silver lined beads - the picture does not do it justice!

pendants waiting for something to hang around with

more pendants waiting for something to hang around with

more barrettes (the large green one is sold and the gold one in the upper left corner has changed it's appearance when I tried a new technique :)

3 barrettes  - Sold (but I'm making more)

  28. Hello Karen, visiting from GYB. What a great idea for the barettes - we call them hair clips. I don't use them as my hair is short, but there are heaps of ladies out there who could make use of a pretty barette.

  31. Hello, Karen! I'm slowly visiting via GYB, and very pleased to find a fellow lover of PC. Naturally, I MUST follow (GFC and Bloglovin, addicted to both LOL). My blog is much "newer" and mostly about jewelry and PC creating. Fiber arts are very much in my past, but I happily read all manner of blogs (even fashion). You might say blogging/blog reading is my "real" hobby :)

    1. Hi Monique - it is a long list isn't it? :) I enjoyed visiting your blog, and had to follow too! I love to make jewelry and sew and knit - the problem is I like to do too many things. But I usually do concentrate on one or another at a time. There was a time I thought Fiber arts were in my past too, and I got rid of a lot of stuff. Never again! If I lose interest in something, I'll pack it up and shove it in the shed, but it'll be there when I find interest in it again. It's expensive to fund a new (old) hobby again :) Karen
